In-Product Illustrations & Icons

The Messenger Product Creative team - now merged under Facebook Brand Design - brings expressive dimension to conversations, helping people feel more connected to friends, family, and communities. Within Messenger, we shape brand expression through in-product visuals—illustrations, icons, and creative tools that spark meaningful interactions.

The mission is to give people rich, delightful ways to express themselves, celebrate culture, and feel more connected every time they use Messenger.

3D Illustration

3D Illustrations are used in NUX (guiding new users or highlighting features) and XMAs (rich, one-way messages) to present content in an iconic, abstract way.

I have collaborated with animators and product designers to develop over 30+ 3D illustrations in the past year - leading the concepts and designs of Messenger in-product illustrations.

UI Illustration

UI Illustrations are 2D, used in interstitials to instructively demonstrate features or messages.

Continued to support product teams, partnering on new illustration needs, delivering a total of over 64 UI illustrations in the past year. And collaborated cross-functionally with XFN teams, managed multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining timelines, delivering high-quality work, and contributing to improving brand expression across Messenger and Facebook apps.

QP Illustration

A Quick Promotion (QP) is a type of illustration used to display actionable notifications such as an upsell.

Responsible for leading and designing Messenger QPs over the past year, from concept to launch.

Iconography

Developed scalable visual systems and collaborated with product teams to ship 55 icons this year.

Led the design of Messenger icons, partnering cross-functionally from ideation to delivery.

Notes Easter Eggs

Led end-to-end Easter Egg development for a range of global cultural moments within Messenger Notes, delivering assets for 17 Easter Eggs (12 lottie animations). I hand-drew the illustrations and developed the visual concepts for these cultural moments.
